We are excited to announce that Emily Dash has been appointed as the new Chair of the Attitude Foundation. Emily is an emerging leader in Australia’s arts and media landscape, known for her acclaimed and wide-ranging work as a writer, actor, producer, and advocate. She brings a wealth of experience and passion for disability representation in media, which aligns perfectly with our mission. She is particularly interested in social justice issues, authentic community engagement, intersectionality and expanding perceptions of disability.

Emily’s career highlights for writing and performance include the multi-award winning “Groundhog Night” (2020), Johanna Garvin’s “The Milky Pop Kid” (2017), “The Cards I’m Dealt” (2015) and “I Am Not A Work Of Art” (2015). Recently she wrote “Peaches ‘n Cream (2024) and “Valiant” (2022) for Bus Stop Films. She has demonstrated a unique ability to create authentic and compelling disability narratives - and is also experienced in creating documentary content, including writing the episode Oliver for UAttitude Foundation’s Perspective Shift documentary mini-series. She has moved into podcast content - including but not limited to co-creating Pearl Tan’s successful fictional podcast “Diversity Work”.

In this new role, Emily will help lead Attitude Foundation's efforts to challenge perceptions of disability through storytelling and media. She says “I am so proud to take on this new challenge, and am honoured that Emma and the Attitude Foundation has trusted me to guide this wonderful and immensely valuable organisation into the future. I look forward to continuing and building on its great work in the time to come”.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Emma Bennison, who has served as Chair and provided exceptional leadership during her tenure. Emma will continue to contribute her expertise and dedication as a board member, ensuring a seamless transition of leadership. Emma’s contributions have been instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of Attitude Foundation, and we are thrilled that she will remain an active part of our future.

Please join us in welcoming Emily and expressing our gratitude to Emma for her ongoing commitment to the Foundation.
